Engineering, Agriculture and Medical Common Entrance Test (EAMCET)

Engineering, Agriculture and Medical Common Entrance Test (EAMCET), Andhra Pradesh is conducted by Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTU), Hyderabad, and Andhra Pradesh every year in May on behalf of Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE).

Merit list is prepared by JNTU on the basis of which admissions are given to the candidates in the respective courses of their choice. EAMCET admissions are done into all the prestigious government colleges/institutions of Andhra Pradesh including the private and minority institutions affiliated to the
University of Acharya
NG Ranga Agricultural, Andhra,
Kakatiya,
Nagarjuna,
Osmania,
Srii Krishnadevaraya,
Sri Venkateswara
Besides these aforementioned universities/ institutions, regional colleges are also incorporated for AP quota seats.

Over the past few years Andhra Pradesh has shown tremendous development in technological studies. Number of Engineering, medical and agricultural colleges have been opened up by government to provide better professional education to students from with in the state and outside the state as well and, this has resulted into the increased rate. Hyderabad is one of the prominent state that has given enormous contributions in IT & Software technology and there are long array of IT companies and institutions in and around the state.

Subject combination that candidate opts for during entrance examination decides the course in which admission is to be taken in professional colleges. University issues a information brochure that provide guidelines and details of admission procedure for EAMCET candidates.


EAMCET seats are distributed under two heads category 'A'(Convenor seats) and category 'B'.

Category A
University Colleges: 95% of sanctioned intake of seats in each course is allotted to eligible candidates..
Un-Aided Non-Minority Professional Institutions: 80% of sanctioned intake of seats in each course in Un-aided Non-Minority and Minority Professional Institutions, are allotted to the eligible candidates.
Un-Aided Minority Professional Institutions: Admissions will be given as per the rules of G.O. Ms.No.54 Higher Education(EC) Department dated: 10-05-2006.

Category B
Un-Aided Non-Minority/Minority Professional Institutions: 20% of the total intake of seats in each course in un-aided Non-Minority and Minority professional Institutions will be allotted to all the eligible candidates including candidates belonging to other States and union territories India and NRIs on merit basis.
